[message]Ruby
Ruby, a colored variety of the mineral corundum, takes its name from the Latin term rubeus, meaning "red."
Our Rubies
As for sapphires, also in this case we are talking about an allochromatic precious stone, whose colors derive from traces of iron, titanium and chromium that are reflected in a vast range of specimens with different shapes. For example, the classic red, even in its intensity, depends on chromium, while brown hues are attributable to the influence of iron.
Given that finding clear rubies without visible inclusions – due to the chromium component – is essentially impossible, it should also be noted that such details can help to distribute the gem's reflections more delicately, enhancing the particularity of the different specimens and thereby increasing their charm and market value.
